Zumi's zero-tolerance standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, and how to report it.
1. Zero tolerance
Zumi has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit, without exception:
- Uploading, sharing, streaming or linking to any content that sexualises minors, including images, videos, audio, text, drawings and animations.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation or attempts to contact minors for sexual purposes, on any surface of the app including comments, direct messages, live streams and chat calls.
- Trafficking, coercion, sextortion, or any conduct that places a minor at risk of sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Accounts operated by, or on behalf of, individuals previously convicted of child sexual offences.
2. Detection and takedown
We screen every upload before it reaches other users, using automated classification, hash-matching against known CSAM databases, and human review. Content we detect or are alerted to is removed immediately, the uploading account is suspended pending investigation, and related content posted by the same account is reviewed in full.
3. Reporting to authorities
Where we identify suspected CSAM or CSAE, we preserve the evidence, report it to the relevant national authority for the reporting centre in our operating regions (including equivalent bodies such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the United States), and report to law enforcement where any child may be at risk. We comply fully with lawful data requests from law enforcement and child-protection agencies.
4. Enforcement
Any account that violates these standards is terminated immediately and permanently. Unlike other penalties on Zumi, CSAM and CSAE violations are never eligible for appeal, reinstatement or a graded outcome. Devices associated with the violation are blocked from creating new accounts, and we retain the evidence for law enforcement.
5. Reporting in the app
Every post, comment, profile, message and live stream on Zumi can be reported in-app by tapping the share icon and choosing Report, or through the report option in any chat. Reports involving child safety are routed directly to a specialist safety queue and reviewed ahead of all other reports. If you or a child you know is in immediate danger, contact your local police first.
6. Contact
Child safety concerns: safety@zuma.social or support@zuma.social. Reports are handled by a designated child-safety contact and escalated as required by law.
