Prohibited and Restricted Content and Activities

Updated 20 September 2026

The absolute limits, including payment misuse.

1. Prohibited content

  • Child sexual abuse material or any sexualisation of a minor — removed, terminated and reported.
  • Non-consensual sexual content, intimate images without consent, pornography and paid adult services.
  • Terrorism, violent extremism, incitement to violence, and organised hate.
  • Human trafficking, exploitation and the solicitation of minors.
  • Weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, prescription medicine, tobacco and vaping sales, counterfeit goods, stolen data and forged documents.
  • Wildlife and endangered-species trade.
  • Graphic violence and self-harm promotion.

2. Prohibited activities, including payment misuse

  • Gambling, betting, lotteries, prize draws and unlicensed financial services.
  • Investment schemes, cryptocurrency trading or sales, money-flipping, pyramid and Ponzi schemes, and any request for money in exchange for future returns.
  • Using coins or gifts to pay for goods, services, debts or transfers of any kind outside the app.
  • Self-gifting, circular gifting, or buying coins with one account to cash out through another, whether alone or as a group.
  • Buying coins with a card or mobile-money account that does not belong to the account holder.
  • Engagement or follower purchase, bot accounts and coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
  • Any attempt to evade an enforcement decision, verification requirement or payout hold.

3. Consequence

Payment misuse ends monetisation immediately, freezes the wallet, reverses affected earnings and, where warranted, results in termination and a report to Paystack and the authorities.
